District Closure- Tuesday, January 27, 2026

DPSCD Staff, Families, and Students,

Due to expected temperatures tomorrow at -11 degrees in the early morning with the wind chill, and the fact that the majority of our students walk to school or need to wait for a yellow school bus or city bus and many city side streets are still uncleared of snow and ice, all District schools will be closed tomorrow along with all District buildings. As you may know, this will be the District’s sixth and final “forgiveness” day for weather. We will be advocating for additional “forgiveness” days through the state superintendent. However, with that said, all students and staff should be prepared to return to school and work Wednesday through Friday despite cold temperatures.

P.S. The District will also be advocating for a two-week delay in MSTEP and P/SAT state testing to obtain more days for lost instructional days before state testing.
